Compact Audio Cassettes

Released by Philips in 1963, the Compact Audio Cassette is often referred to as a music cassette or cassette tape. It is an analog magnetic tape format for audio recording and playback. The Audio Cassette was developed in Hasselt, Belgium. Audio cassettes come in two forms, either prerecorded or as a fully recordable “blank” cassette.

About

Audio Cassettes contain two small spools, between which the magnetically coated, 1/8″ wide polyester-type plastic film (magnetic tape) is passed and wound. These spools and their subsequent parts are held inside a protective plastic shell.

If you have some great old Audio Cassettes that you would like to enjoy once again, we can convert them into a digital format, either to CD or USB (MP3 format). CD’s and cases can be printed for a bit extra.

Sound Quality

We can create track selections and if the sound has been damaged or distorted, we can enhance the audio quality by removing unwanted background noise, such as hiss. We can also improve on general sound quality by increasing or decreasing the bass, mid-range tones and high end treble as required.
